About me

My ongoing love of Mexico led me to the Yucatán and in 1997 I left San Francisco with my husband for a relaxed lifestyle on the Mex-Caribbean coast, Puerto Morelos, where we’d built a house. We founded Alma Libre Bookstore and through immersion into my new culture and country, I became an expert on Mexico and the Maya, writing for Fodor’s and other publications. I’m the author of Where the Sky is Born: Living in the Land of the Maya; Maya 2012 Revealed; and two thrillers set in the Yucatán, my fertile stomping ground‚ Wheels Up and Tulum Takedown.
